Training & AssistanceAnchorage’s Promise Service-learning Academy The Service-learning Academy is designed for teachers, youth leaders and community members who work with middle and high school aged youth in schools, community-based organizations, and/or groups serving youth with special needs. The courses are designed to be interactive and will include team building and reflection activities that further service-learning practice. Each course will explore new practices that can be used to enhance classrooms, youth groups, or afterschool programs. Participants will share components of service-learning that may already exist in their work with youth, and will learn how to expand these components as they become more knowledgeable of the 8 standards of effective service learning.
